JVC LT-46SL89 Review: 46” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: JVC LT-46SL89 LCD TV. Touted as “super-slim” model, JVC LT-46SL89 incorporates an LCD technology that is different from what other brands use. This technology provides relatively wider viewing angle. Available in maximum 1080HD resolution, the model is said to have accurate color points which make pictures crystal clear. Every color, ranging from skin tones to the color of grass or mountain, looks very realistic.

Optimizing light-diffusing plates and light-reflection sheets for better composition, the model has some slight flicker in high-resolution detail when it de-interlaces 1080i with 3:2, However, with actual movies (instead of test patterns) this is scarcely noticeable. Featuring thinnest gloss bezel, JVC LT-46SL89 uses power-saving tech that makes it even more attractive to the clients.

The sleek model has a HD tuner that allows you to hang the TV on the wall. Though capable of reproducing a 1080p pattern with adjacent white and black pixels, JVC LT-46SL89 has a contrast ratio that is average for an LCD. However, the model successfully passes certain vital tests like de-interlacing 1080i, and picking up the 3:2 sequences with 1080i material (while watching movies on cable/satellite)., thus proving its brand value.

In a bid to leave no stone unturned to woo the customers, the model is provided with a remote that is backlit and has direct input access. The setup menus are the improved versions, with a rather monochromatic design that is simpler and easier to navigate. It allows you to adjust all the features on one page.

Various on-line reviews have shown that this model is not a bad choice if you want to go for an HDTV. Considering its overall performance, including color accuracy, fine de-interlacing and excepting some of its average features like scaling and contrast ratio/black level, , JVC LT-46SL89 is a good model that you can try out.
