Please do not buy this tv. We bought it 2 years ago when our old tv finally died after about 12 years. We were enticed by the picture, the dvd component, and the price of the set. About 7 months after we got home, the dvd player started making a clicking noise when the dvd was being read and the noise progressed till it was even heard during the dvd playing. Very irritating. Then, the other morning, our tv just died with no warning. When we turn it on, the blue “on” light comes on, we get a black screen that says “no input”, then it turns off. It doesn’t respond to changing the channel, input, etc. before it shuts off. I’ve researched and seen this issue on a lot of Insignia tv issue boards. We called Best Buy but since we bought the tv 2 years and 2 months ago, it’s not in the 2 yr warranty time line, so we’re totally out of luck. If it had been in the warranty time, they would have tried to fix it or given us another Insignia… not something I want to try again. Be wary of all the bells and whistles in a lower brand tv like Insignia. Stick to namebrands… they’re the best for a reason and having to replace a cheap set a few years later will cost more in the long run. Good luck.

I bought this tv exactly 2 years ago and have had 0 problems with it so far.I also bought the 4 year warranty because you never know whether you got a lemon or what.So I’m good for another 2 years. And if the tv lasts that long,it must be a good one.(not a lemon)
So spending the $100.00 for the extended warranty is the only way to go when buying a cheaper tv.(Or any tv for that matter)
If you had done this you would have a new tv right now.
So no I don’t agree with you on buying name brands for twice the price.

I just recently saw a guy on the news who had paid $2500.00 for a top of the line Sony and he never got the extended warranty and after 2 years his picture is all green tint. And nothing he can do about it.
