The Hitachi UT42X902 is a clear winner as far as sharper picture quality is concerned. However, it has a few cons shown in reviews as well. While the lightweight and ultra thin compact design is a definitely an eye-catching attraction, its slim design means some missing features. One major shortcoming of the Hitachi UT42X902 is having a mere single HDMI input. In this way users are barred from enjoying multiple connectivity option. Another significant complaint about the Hitachi UT42X902 is its audio quality. For a 42-inch panel, only 6-watt speakers seem a bit underpowered for most users’ needs. Many HDTV buyers will have to use an additional surround sound system.
