I too purchased a 19" haier lcd tv last november. I installed it in my newborns nursery so my wife or I could watch something while feeding or whatever, not tons of usage. About a month or so ago the tv stopped working. When i turn it on, it powers up and i can see the channel pop up, then the picture comes on for a split second then goes black. I too called haier and was given the same song and dance about the 90 day warranty and was told I would probably be better off trashing it and buying another one. I would have thought a year warranty for a brand new item wouldnt be out of line. My LG in my living room came with a one year warranty....maybe thats what I should replace the haier with.

I purchased a Haier 19" HLC19K1 last summer (09). It's been in my sewing room, has about 30 hours of watching.... yesterday it shut off while watching; no power light, nothing. I moved the plug to another outlet, unplugged for re-set for 15 min as the Haier Customer Help said to do.... nothing.

Haier is no help, will not even acknowledge that 30 hours is a rather short life for a TV. Being in my 70-s, I cannot be lugging this TV around to repair shops, but this is what Haier says I need to do anyway.

I had ordered the set through QVC so that it would be delivered to my home; now I must wrestle this useless item into the car for a repair, and pay the cost myself (although the parts should be covered by warranty, they say). I will try to get the fix done, I cannot really afford to toss this TV out as I would prefer to do.

If Haier would replace this TV I would be happy, but they take no responsibility for their product beyond 90 days. I would never purchase another Haier product after experiencing their lack of understanding of my position.
