Haier HL37S Review: 37” LCD HDTV

The design of the Haier HL37S is a bit different from the others. It has a compact, box-like appearance with sharp edges. The front panel is a silvery blue bezel which looks quite appealing. It is a change from the stark black of the other models. The Haier logo is imprinted in the front. It gives a very sturdy look. A review shows that this HDTV can be kept on the stand or mounted on the wall. Any standard bracket will do the job. If you can camouflage the cables, then the look will be still better.

The Haier HL37S has a resolution of 1366 x 762 and a response time of 8 ms. The contrast ratio is a healthy 1000:1. Although there is nothing in these features to bring the house down, yet it is enough to portray that the picture quality is quite good. The scenes which have a lot of fast action will appear to be natural. There will be absence of blurring. The ATSC/NTSC tuner too will readily bring the free analog and digital signals to the HDTV.
As far as connectivity is concerned, there are 2 component inputs and 2 HDMI connections. There is also a PC input which allows the HDTV to function as a computer monitor. Whatever be the device that you connect to the HDTV, it can be accessed and controlled with a Universal remote. This remote is sufficient for controlling all devices and a different remote for each device is not necessary. The Haier HL37S will provide the best in home entertainment.
