Element FLX-2611B Review – 26-inch LCD HDTV

The Element FLX-2611B is a 26 inch LCD flat panel HDTV that is available from popular retailers like Circuit City. The FLX2611B is a widescreen HDTV set in an all black case. The two speakers are bottom mounted which helps reduce any excessive width. If you are limited to a certain screen size because of an existing entertainment unit, bottom mounted speaker TV’s will typically fit better. The Element FLX-2611B has pretty similar specifications and features as other HDTV’s in this price range but it a little bit on the high end for a budget priced LCD HDTV.

Element FLX-2611B Features and Specifications Review:

  • Resolution: 720 (1366 x 768)
  • Built-in Tuners: NTSC/ATSC
  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9 widescreen
  • Contrast Ratio: 800:1
  • Picture in Picture: no
  • PC Compatible: yes
  • Component Inputs: 2
  • Composite Inputs: 2
  • HDMI Input: 1
  • S-Video Input: 1
  • Dimensions: 22.1 inches high, 26.7 inches wide, 7.9 inches deep, 39.5 lbs.
  • Warranty: 1 year

A review of the FLX-2611B finds that it is pretty comparable to other budget priced brands out there. At just under $550, its a little bit more expensive than some other budget priced LCD including the Element FLX-2610 that we previously reviewed. These HDTV features are listed to be exactly the same so the only difference should be the exterior color. So if you’re not picky about the color of your LCD HDTV, you could save about $70 by getting the FLX-2610.

YouReviewElectronics.com gives the Element FLX-2611B 7/10 stars!

I purchased this TV and in 8 months it broke. To get warranty work completed you must box it up and pay to ship it to California then wait 3-6 weeks to get it returned. If it cannot be fixed they are able to provide you a refurbished set instead. Great customer service. I also had to wait 37 minutes on the phone to talk to someone. I wouldn’t purchase one again based on warrant alone. Not worth the aggravation.

I purchased this TV 11 months ago at Circiut City, which is now out of business-
it just quit working last night- they must be made to only last for as long
as the car ride home. It now appears that I’m out 450.00 in less than a year.
Like S. Solis I WILL NEVER buy this product again!

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM ELEMENT ELECTRONICS…The three minute phone wait was 50 minutes!!! I bought a TV at Circuit City less than 1 year ago…it died, they want $232.00, shipping, not to mention the cost of parts and labor…..you are kidding me! It would be cheaper tp buy another one of their defective excuses for a TV. than to get this Piece of S__t!
The person on the phone (tech support, not the sharpest knife in the drawer)) doesn’t even work for the company. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PASS THIS PRODUCT BY!

I also bought the Element 26 in T from Circuit City and it got a scrambled picture after 8 mos. I paid $110 to ship it to California and received it 2 mos later. The picture is now black. The sound is perfect but there’s no picture – 6 mos later. As the other reviewers agree – PASS ON THIS TV, IT’S OBVIOUSLY JUNK!

Purchased the 26 inch Element at Circuit City 1 YEAR AGO, wife shut it off before going to bed, in the morning it did not want to turn on anymore even after unplugging and after checking rear fuse. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAUGE.

Purchased motor home 8 months ago with a brand new 26 inch Element. After two weeks the screen would go black, but sound would be perfect. Even does it when watching a dvd. Sometimes it will stay on for an hour, some times three hours. I will NEVER BUY AN ELEMENT PRODUCT OF ANY KIND.

Just as the others on here…I purchased this budget 21″ Element tv from Circuit City about 6months ago…you guessed it! It is now sitting on our bedroom floor because the screen is has gone black with the sound still coming through. I brought up our 19″ (Element too) from the basement into our room, that has not been used very often. Let’s see how long it takes for this one to crap out! DONOT!! buy anything from the manufacturers of Element.

I bought an Element on Black Friday ( almost a year ago)…think 30 inch and have had it mounted on my bedroom wall since then. I may watch it for 30 minutes a week. For the past month, a message began popping up on the screen that says “Not Supported”. Then the picture gets distored within minutes and makes a squealing noise so loud that my neighbors can hear it. Eventually the screen turns bright blue and then to black. It will not respond to the remote or manually to turn it off. I have never seen anything like this and I will never purchase an Element product again. The biggest rip off I have ever been party to! I wanted to save money for my bedroom TV because I spent s much on my livingroom TV (Samsung plasma 40″). But now I understand why it is worth paying so much for a decent name brand! Because of the quality…which Element has no concept! What a joke…I’m out 400.00, but at least I have learned a hard lesson…NEVER BUY ELEMENT!!!

When it comes to making TV’s, this company is OUT OF IT’S ELEMENT! Like the other reviews here, the 26″ Element TV, I bought for my mom less than a year ago from Circuit City is a piece of crap…shuts down for long periods of time, have to unplug from wall for red light to come back on, or turn on at TV power button as remote control will not work. My mom has trouble walking, so getting to the TV is difficult (not that that’s the answer). Called a customer service #, today, which took forever to speak with a dim witted fellow. I can return it for repair at my own shipping expense. Having little faith in this companies service, product, and turn around time, I think I will save the shipping charges and apply it to a new TV and more trusted brand. I usually make better informed buying decisions, and was hasty in not researching Element products.

I have the same story as everyone else. The tv went black and has never come on again no matter what I did. The tv is less than a year old. Do not buy from Element

Seem like only people bashing the TV post here so I am taking time out from WATCHING my Fantastic Element Tv that works perfect I run this TV in mt Den many hours a week while I work and never one problem.
I now as well as watching my Direct TV on it,DVD and good old VCR tapes have it hooked up to the inthernet with a old computer and I watch all my HULU and other things I watch online on it as well.

    Great price!

Works better then a more expesive model I got from Best Buy (My Element came from Walmart)

So people don’t listen to the crabby ones who only bash items and don’t post when somethign works great for them. Buy one save mone and enjoy it for many years to come.
Back to watching my Element TV that yes still works perfect!

Greetings, If your warranty card stated that the tv was warranted by Circuit City then it wasn’t actually a Element TV. Circuit city contracted with Element to provide them with entry level tv’s but per the contract they were neither made nor warrantied by Element. I you check the model number against what is listed on Element’s web site and it isn’t listed then it isn’t a Element even though it may have the Element name on it. Most were made by Proview and those probably made by someone else. Why Element would tarnish their name with a deal like this, I don’t understand. The Made by Element models are very good and rather high ended. Might interest you to know that all of the tv manufacturers play this market even Sony. Just check the model number on their website. If it isn’t listed BEWARE.

Patrick, were you able to program you Direct TV remote for the element tv. I have been unseccessful in getting it to work. Direct TV does not list Element as an option.

0178 is the Direct TV code for the remote, (i think) I had the same problem, but called Direct TV and they gave me the correct code

So I’m guessing I should be happy our 32″ Element from CC lasted just over a year?! Loud whistling noise, half screen went staticky, half blue, wont turn on. PEEVED! $500 and it lasted less than 2 years!
Meanwhile my monster box of a 20″ RCA bought in 1997 for $100 from Montgomery Ward still works perfect. Go figure! GRRRRR

Bought a 32″ Element from CC November 2007, Black Friday special $400. It works really well most of the time. Picture is really sharp. The sound quality took a little getting used to. Every once in a while the picture goes black, but the sound is still there. If you shut it off and turn it back on the picture comes back. Hope it dosen’t get worse. Wish there was a firmware fix or something.

Same story with 26 inch Element tv. Why isn’t this company being held accountable? I can’t afford to buy another tv.

I purchased one 6 hours ago. I brought it home, played my Xbox 360 on it for 30 minutes. While having it turned on, I unplugged my AV cable from it and it turned off. I won’t turn on and I tried plugging the power cord in and out! Wish i wasn’t so deceived by the price and did a little research!!!

I guess I should be lucky I purchased a 32″ ELEMENT about 2 years ago from cc for over $550. I have tv`s over 20 years old that still run. This piece of junk went out in a puff a smoke. Oh yeah the sound still works.

I’m sitting here listening to my TV but not watching it because the picture is black. I press the power button and instead of the picture coming on I just hear a popping noice. I thought I’d check online to see if there was something I could do to fix it. Apparently I was more lucky than most. I’ve had mine for about 2 years. I got a great black Friday deal on a 26inch – $280. It had an excellent picture and I was really happy about it …. til now. I took a chance on buying it even though I couldn’t find much info about Element 2 years ago – guess I learned. :(

Element is garbage and loopholes themselves out of having any responsibility. I got the 22″ but it wasn’t in the list. FLX-2211B. I had it about 1.5 years and it suddenly just doesn’t work. It won’t turn on. The first unfortunate thing is I purchased it at circuit city. The other thing is element does not hold responsibility for televisions very long. They rename the exact same model when they sell it currently. For example FLX-2211B is now ELETT221 and if I even had a question they have pawned this off onto a company called proview. I am just glad I did not buy a larger more expensive TV. Bottom line is Element is JUNK. It’s not worth the hassle down the road to pay a few dollars less at purchase. Stick to the better brands like SONY, buy from places like bestbuy and if you spend more than a few hundred dollars get an extended warranty from whoever offers it. Element Electronics is garbage. In case people want to research this brand. Fraud Scam Worthless Cheap Chinese material.

    and
I bought the tv at circuit city but it is not on the list that is in regards to that whole matter.
Even with their current TVs they only offer a warranty for 1 year so I’m out of luck no matter what.
It will be fun to take this stupid thing apart I guess.

bought at WalMart.Replaced in 1 week due to bad screen.Screen developed large black spots.Sent to Hisense(The company that actually makes this tv).Was told I had damaged the set,and they would not cover it.After some back and forth, they agreed it may not have been damaged, but defective, and they would replace the set. That was a month ago.Called today, and was told that altho they agreed to replace it,the tech who first made the damage call, hasent signed off on the replacement,so they dont know when I will recieve the set???Strange, crooked bunch.Probably used to double talk, because, with the lousy quality of their products, they get plenty of practice.
