Coby TFDVD1973 Review: 19” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Coby TFDVD1973 LCD TV. Most HDTVs which have built-in DVD players have a separate unit integrated mainly to the top of the set. But the Coby TFDVD1973 differs greatly in this design by incorporating a slot-loading DVD player at its side. This makes it very convenient to watch movies and also conserve the sleek and smooth look of the TV. You get a built-in DVD player without any noticeable difference in the front panel design of the TV.

An infrared remote is another significant addition in this TV. It is possible to control all the devices connected to the HDTV with the help of this single remote. Being small in size does not affect its audio features. It has 2 speakers with a total output power of 10W. Other significant features include a HDMI port and USB/SD card slots. The HDMI will help to connect Blu-ray disc players, gaming consoles and camcorders to the HDTV. You can now watch movies and view photos whenever you want to on the HDTV screen. You can also connect your digital camera through the USB ports.

A review shows that the Coby TFDVD1973 has a resolution of 1440 x 900 which helps the images to look their best on the TV. This resolution is good enough for the 19” TV. It also brings down the price of the TV to $219.95 MSRP. A 1080p resolution would have added a lot more to the price. The contrast ratio of 500:1 however needs a boost to display better black levels. It is very low in comparison to the contrast ratios sported by the HDTVs of today.

Providing a menu language support of French, Spanish and English has proved to be very advantageous to the company. More people throughout Europe can understand better and would wish to purchase the Coby TFDVD1973. Navigation is easy too and the TV functions are very user-friendly. Purchasing the HDTV will be a good move for you. You can buy an HDTV and get a DVD player for free.
