AOC L24H898 Review: 24” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: AOC L24H898 LCD TV. Exhibiting a full 1080p resolution, the AOC L24H898 is all set to provide all the leading HDTV companies a run for their money. The 24-inch screen is good enough to serve as an impressionable device in your living room. The picture quality is above reproach and with a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1, the black levels are also pretty good. But with stupendously high contrast levels being sported by top HDTV companies today, AOC has to make some improvements in this area.

The viewing angle is good at 170 degrees but can also be bettered. There are certain smudgy areas if you sit at off-angles. The color also appears to fade at the edges. However, if you are sitting directly in front of the TV, the images are very good. The brightness of 300 cd/sq.m. is also impressive enough. The 5 ms pixel response time affects the images and reduces flickering.

Got it on Oct 15th, 2009. On Jan 20th, 2010 it went to just a grey screen. Cannot get into the menu and when you hit the input button, all that is there is HDMI and PC. Just wondering if anyone else with this has had this problem. Had to pay to ship it to a repair facility in California, which sucks for something under warrenty,

Michael, I also have this exact same problem. It’s ridiculous that you had to pay shipping. I’m disappointed with this service.
