AOC L22W861 Review: 22” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: AOC L22W861 LCD TV. This 22” small wonder from AOC is a work of art. It is just the right size to fit into a kitchen or a small office room. It has all the basic features that you would look for in an HDTV. The resolution of 1680 x 1050 is very good to deliver quality pictures, especially for all the programs aired on the HDTV. There may be some problems if you want to connect high definition devices like DVD players to the TV. It will not be able to get the effect of the 1080p resolution.

The VGA PC interface allows the AOC L22W861 to be used as a computer monitor. Whenever you want to connect the PC, you can do so and later convert it back to an HDTV. Although this HDTV is small in size, yet the sharpness of the pictures defies imagination. The images are crisp and extremely natural. This can be used as a second TV in the house, and sometimes also substituted for a computer monitor.

A review shows that the AOC L22W861 has an impressive contrast ratio of 3000:1. Although this is not much in comparison to the extremely high contrast ratios of the very popular brands, it is enough to show a decent picture quality. 16.7 million colors are a huge amount to portray every shade of the images shown on the TV. This makes the pictures even more life-like.

The 5 ms pixel response time allows all the images to be refreshed so fast that there is no flickering. Blurring is also reduced to a minimum. However, the 160 degree viewing angle leaves a lot to be desired. You have to sit in front of the TV to be able to get a good view of the programs. Therefore, this set is a good one if you are planning to buy a larger TV for your house or you are on a budget.
