Like many other HDTV manufacturers, Philips is mainly focused putting out high quality LCD and Plasma flat panels. Philips most recent lines are known for their designer appearance – especially their Ambilight series 
which outputs a color similar to whatever is on your screen behind the television. In general, Philips is on the lower-end of the well known brands.
